The Column tool allows you to create smart Building colonnades and free-standing colonnades.
The tool works similar to the Cladding tool with an editor that allows you to configure and create your colonnades.
Click the Column tool to activate the editor:
Create Building colonnade
A building colonnade follows the outline of a specific footprint of your building.
To create the colonnade click the 3d model on the part you want to follow:
Initially the colonnade will automatically apply to this section of the building, however, once placed you can adjust the vertical position of the colonnade using the settings:
You can set the columns to specific building datums. This not only positions them where you want them but they also become Linked Datums so additional updates to the datums will also update the columns.
You can also set the column attributes including colour, size, offset and corner conditions.
Once configured changes to the building and heights will automatically update the columns.
Create [free-standing] colonnade
Configuring a free-standing colonnade is similar to a building colonnade, however, a free standing colonnade requires a base level and heights as it won't be attached to building datums.
To create the colonnade draw a stroke in the 2d window.
To edit columns, refer to the Editing columns page.
