Design Options part of our Pro subscription plan.
Design Options allow you to explore your ideas without creating multiple projects that are similar but different. Instead, you can manage all your design options directly within a single project.
In this project we want to replace the central core of an existing building so first we create the parts of the existing building that will remain.
As we don't have any Design Options defined yet, these items are drawn on the "Base" option which will always be visible.
Create your first Design Option
Open the Project Settings and hit the Create design option to create and name your option:
Once you have created this first option, you will see in the Display Options that you can switch between Base and Block 1.
Setting the Design Option to Block 1 means all subsequently created elements will be assigned to Block 1 (until you change the option.)
We can now design Block 1.
Duplicate Design Option
In some cases you may want to create a new "empty" design option. However, you may want to duplicate an existing option so you can quickly explore a variation.
Open Project Settings, and instead of creating a new option, long press on Block 1 and use tap the Duplicate item:
We now switch to this new duplicate option in our Display settings:
We can now easily toggle between our options to see which we prefer.
Assign items to a different Design Option
If you want to move an item to a specific option, use the relevant settings to update this:
Manage Design Options
Clicking on Project Settings, you will see a Design Options tab which provides additional control over design options.
You can create, duplicate, rename and delete options all with a long-press on the applicable option.
Deleting an option will remove all elements assigned to that option - though in this case, you will receive a prompt before the items and option get deleted.
