The sketchbook is not strictly for sketching, but is intended as your "digital moleskin" allowing you to capture all aspects of your project.
The Drawing Tool, allows you to place views from the Model (plans, sections, elevations) and then notate these and output them.
Open the Drawing Settings:
Set the Drawing you wish to place via the Drawing drop-down.
Keep drawing updated will ensure the drawing always reflects the current design. Switching this off allows you to keep a variety of evolving snap shots of your design.
When initially placing a drawing you can set it to Fit to window which will fill the page. Additionally selecting To nearest scale will set it to a sensible scale.
You can have drawing titles automatically placed, and also choose the display options.
To place the drawing, close the settings and tap the location in the sketch where you wish to place it.
Note: If you selected Fit in Window it will be placed in the centre.
Once you've assembled your drawings you can easily output these to PNGs and PDFs.
Automatic Layout Tool
If you switch to the Gallery View, you will see a button in the top right next to the Help button.
This button automatically creates sketch pages and lays out your drawings.
At this stage the following pages, and drawings are created:
- Plan - a single floor plan from the Base Storey
- Elevation(s) - up to 4 Elevations placed on a page
- Section(s) - up to 4 Sections placed on a page
The drawing scale and location is based on the number of drawings being placed. With drawing placed to maximise scale (ie if there are two tall elevations these are placed side by side, or if they are short elevations then they are placed above and below.)
