Calculations are part of the Codesign Professional Plan
Calculations allow you to use the base project usages to calculate additional data to help inform your design.
For example, you can use calculations to provide an expected rental yield or estimated construction cost.
As these Calculations are based on the Usage areas they update in real-time as you explore your design and make changes.
Create Calculations
You create Calculations via the Project Settings:
There are four example calculations included in the Codesign Template.
A Calculation takes a Usage type [Area], and either multiplies or divides it by a factor to determine a result. Depending on the Calculation the result can be configured to display an Area, Currency Value, or Unit/Count.
You can Create new calculations and Edit existing Calculations.
FAR Calculations
Note: The calculation of the FAR Area is used for all FAR based reports. If you delete this FAR Calculation all FAR Reports will use the Gross Area for reporting purposes.
Override Calculation Values
When you create a Calculation you provide a default that is used by all Usage Types.
You can, if required, override this on a Usage-by-usage basis.
Switch to the Usage types page in the Project Settings:
You can select the specific Calculation via the drop down in the top-right, and then Edit (and override) values on an individual Usage basis. (In the image above you can see the Carparking cost has been overridden with a different value)
